Parents of Alpheus James Adams (1845-1910)

3rd great-grandfather of MKS on the Watne branch. Family history says that Alpheus was born in Michigan abt. 1846, that his mother died when he was one year old, and that he was taken to the home of an uncle in Owen Sound, Ontario, where he grew to manhood. Research and DNA matches for one of his great-granddaughters confirms with high probability that his Adams line goes through Rev. Ezra Adams (1788-1871). Alpheus' marriage record lists William Adams and Maria Adams as his parents–both names of Rev. Ezra Adams' children–but it is not known if William is his father or whether he was raised by William and Maria.
