Sourced—Spratlin(g)

Introduction

This is a compilation of sources, with proper citations, for the Spratlin(g) surname.

Our Spratlin(g) line in Virginia appears to have been researched many years ago, but not very actively today. With source material sparse in the period 1607–1849, it is necessary to consider all available sources, particularly to disambiguate individuals as they emigrated across America. Sources for Allied families are often useful, or necessary.

Included are surname variants:

  • Spradlin, Spradling
  • Spratlin, Spratling
  • Spradlen, Spratlen
  • Spradly, Spradley
  • Spratly, Spratley.

We have not established a relationship between the Spratlin(g) / Spradlin(g) families and the Spradlen, Spratlen, Spradley, and Spratley families yet.

US Census records are included for 1790, 1800, and 1810. They are too numerous to include after that, and are easily found on Ancestry.com using the search feature for each of the spelling variants listed.
